Charlotte County Vehicle Maintenance Facility

public safety

This is a 22,000 GSF / $4,183,842 facility for the Charlotte County Fire & EMS Department and the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. The facility houses all vehicle maintenance functions of the Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office. Also included at the site in the building is a separate EMS storage component. The vehicle bays (21’-6" clear on the inside) accommodate the largest of the department’s vehicles on lifts. Offices and storage for the Fire department vehicle maintenance function are centrally located between two repair garages. Twelve (12) bay openings (6 on each side of the building) allow access to the 80’-0" wide building for servicing of all vehicles.

Hurricane Sustainable Architecture Design for Tropical Climates

The project is located on a newly developed campus for the emergency operations building. The project has been redesigned to enhance the wind speed resistance of the facility to Miami-Dade requirements (146mph x 1.15).
