PROJECT SUMMARY:
This project involved the restoration of the Baggage Building that once served the historic Union Station Train Depot. The Union Transfer Company , the local affilate of American Railway Expressway operated an express and baggage service out of the building. The program called for an authentic restoration of the building but to allow for the city to lease the facility. The original intent was to serve as a museum, restaurant and office. It currently houses an art gallery.
It was designed to comply with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
